Prices
All prices are in South African rand. The price shown next to a product is the price you pay for it. The delivery fee is shown at checkout, before you pay, so you always see the full amount first.
Some foods are sold by the kilogram. Where a product says “per kg”, the quantity you choose is the number of kilograms, starting at 1 kg.
If we make an obvious pricing mistake on the website, we will contact you before we take payment or send your order, and you can choose to cancel at no cost.
Placing an order
You can order on this website, by WhatsApp, or by phone. When you order on the website, you will receive an order number. Your order is accepted once we confirm it with you by WhatsApp or phone. You pay when it arrives or when you collect it.
If something you ordered is out of stock, we will tell you straight away and offer a replacement or a refund for that item. We will never swap a product without asking you first.
Paying
For now there is one way to pay:
- Pay on delivery or collection: pay the driver, or pay when you collect, as agreed with us when we confirm your order.
Delivery
Delivery areas, fees and times are explained on our Delivery information page.
Cancelling an order
You can cancel any order, free of charge, until it has left our premises. Just call or WhatsApp us with your order number. If you have already paid, we refund you in full.
Because we sell food for everyday use, delivered to your home, the 7-day “cooling-off” cancellation right in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act does not apply to our orders (section 42 of that Act). Your other rights are explained on our Returns and refunds page.
Your rights
Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other South African law.
Product information
We describe our products as accurately as we can. Pictures are for illustration, and packaging can change. Always read the label on the product for ingredients, allergens and best-before dates. Some of our products contain peanuts and egg.
Brand names such as Mazoe and Cerevita belong to their owners. Maitha is an independent shop and is not endorsed by these brands.
Security and privacy
Our website uses a secure, encrypted connection (https). How we look after your personal information is explained in our Privacy policy.
Complaints
If you are unhappy, please tell us first so we can put it right: call or WhatsApp 067 721 5985 or email info@maitha.co.za. If we cannot resolve it, you may contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
